Patna, (Bihar Times): The chief minister, Nitish Kumar, inaugurated the Mobile Inspection System, at the flood preparation review meeting here on Tuesday. The MIS will help monitor floods in Bihar, especially in its northern half, in a better way.
In this hi-tech monitoring mobile phones would be used to get information of any breach in the embankments. Photographs of the affected site will be taken to assess the quantum of damage. "The mobile inspection system allows users to send status reports and images instantly to headquarters using an encrypted channel over GPRS" explained Anupam Singh whose company has developed this programme.
